Always Right Page 15
She handed me a glass plaque that had the ARC logo and underneath the words, Fearless Founder, Owner, and Leader Award.
Well, we commenced to crying and hugging each other once again. I thought that was over until she held onto me and said, “We’ve also displayed every review ARC has garnered since its inception. However, we just had a disturbing one come through today.” Everyone gasped at her announcement.
“What?” I exclaimed.
“Yeah, it’s up now.” Her eyebrows were pushed together as she read. “I’ve been acquainted with ARC for almost a year now. They have been of the utmost, professional, timely, and precise. My customer ratings have expanded significantly. So much so, our organization has moved forward with the expansion. So I have nothing but praise for the organization. What I take issue with is the owner. This woman, Maxine Robins, has stolen something from me. Something that can’t be easily replaced.” Gasps went through the entire room. I nearly buckled at such an accusation, and it was being read in front of my own company. Just as I was about to tell Gladys to stop, she continued. “She came in like a thief in the night and robbed me. How do I replace my heart? One can’t replace a heart. She has it in her possession, and she won’t give it back. I don’t want her too because I have hers too. Therefore, one sure-fire way to remedy this deceit from the owner’s thievery is by confronting her and just asking her out. Especially since the customer is always right…”
My mind tried to keep up since the review that was posted all over said I had stolen something. It even called me a thief. I was so mortified that I didn’t quite hear anything else.
All of a sudden, the crowd gasped, causing me to look blindly at them, so I could see where they were looking. All eyes were on me, which sent me looking down, because I thought maybe I had peed on myself or something. Something caught my eye while searching to see what was happening that had the crowd captivated and in shock.
It was Noah.
He was behind me and bent down on one knee. The man had something in his hand.
What the hell was going on?
Gladys held the microphone to his mouth, and he began to speak, “Maxine Robins, it all started with one review. So, I thought another chapter should begin with a review. You held to your guns about not removing the review. I find it only fair, since we customers are always right, that you’ve stolen my heart, Love. That you have to marry me.”
Holy fucking shit!
Holy fucking shit!
My heart started pounding in my chest at a rate that seemed entirely too fast. What was the crazy man talking about?
“You wrote that review?” I asked because I was seriously confused.
“Yes.” Noah answered.
“You said I stole something from you?” I asked and just as the words released from my mouth, his other words hit me. “Holy shit!”
The crowd laughed as tears started pouring down my face.
“Noah?” I exclaimed in a watery exhale.
He remained on his knee but opened up the velvet box to reveal the biggest diamond I had ever seen. It was so damn big, I gasped again.
“Noah!” I sighed.
“Marry me, Love?” He asked with clear eyes and a smile on his handsome face. “Remember, I’m always right.”
I laughed while nodding my head.
“Okay, Noah.” I responded. “I’ll marry you.”
His eyebrows rose.
“You said yes?!?” It wasn’t clear if he was asking or not. I was certain that he seemed to be shocked by my answer. Then, he turned towards everyone and said, “She said yes!”
My team cheered until I couldn’t hear them anymore. That was because Noah had slid the ring on my finger and was drowning me in his arms, where those lips of his were doing wonders. We almost forgot we were at the restaurant, surrounded by people.
When I turned around, the entire party was all smiles and threw congratulations around. As people hugged me and shook Noah’s hand, that’s when I saw Zora, Harvey and Sheryl. Shit, even Noah’s friend Jacquez was there and all smiles.
“I can’t believe y’all.” I admonished all of them. “Everybody knew. Even you, Dad.”
“Yeah, baby girl. The whole team. You know how we do.” My father smiled.
“Girl, congratulations!” Sheryl hugged me tightly. “So proud and glad you met someone for you!”
Tears hit my eyes again before I pulled away and said, “Me too.”
Zora joined us and merely smiled, “About time with y’all two. Couldn’t have been a better couple.”
“Right!” Sheryl chimed in.
Harvey and Noah gave each other man hugs, and Noah introduced the two men. They fell into an easy conversation as I half listened to Zora and Sheryl talk about how perfect Noah and I were.
My eyes remained on my man because he just blew me out of the water. His review was wrong. It wasn’t I that stole his heart, it was he that stole mine.
Chapter 16
Noah
My head turned to find Maxine staring at me. With no thought, I left the gentlemen, gathered my now fiancée, and moved us to a secluded room in the back of the restaurant.
“Everything okay, Love?” I stared into those warm, brown eyes.
“Yes!” She answered with a quivering bottom lip.
Pulling her into me, I wrapped both arms around her and whispered, “Don’t cry, Love. Everything will work out! Trust me?”
Her head nodded while still buried it in my chest. She was a cute thing.
“Can’t wait to get you home, so we can celebrate. Our way.” I whispered in her ear.
She let out a moan, and I knew she was in full agreement. Maxine stayed there for a good five minutes, and then she composed herself, kissed me chastely on the lips, and said, “Okay, I’m ready to go back out there.”
I smiled, grabbed her hand, and we returned to the party. People continued to give their congratulations, and as the event winded down, Gladys shooed us home.
With no hesitation, I pulled Maxine out of there, and we nabbed some Ben and Jerry’s on the way home.
“Where are we living?” I asked. “You want to buy or build a house? I need a location, so I can let my realtor know.”
We entered her place and I moved towards the kitchen to put the ice cream in the freezer.
“Noah?” She called. “You have a realtor?”
“Yes, Love. How do you think we were able to find out where to have a hotel?” He chuckled.
“Do you want to buy or build?” She turned the question around on me.
I leaned against the counter and said, “Love, whatever you want. I just need to be with you.”
She smiled, turned around, and took off her little black dress in one swoop over her head. The woman threw it across the room and began moving towards the bedroom.
“Oh, are you teasing me?” I asked while pushing off the counter. Maxine laughed, then she started moving faster. “I didn’t show you what I bought from Steel. You’ll get both.”
The laugh turned into a childish giggle as she ran to the room. By the time I hit the room, she was lying in the middle of the bed with her arms across the headboard and her legs crossed, naked, despite her knickers.
“Naughty fucking girl!” I hissed as I made quick work of my shirt.
She gave me that smile, and I knew there would be no getting tired of this. Nabbing her ankle, I flipped Maxine on her stomach, tied her wrist together with my tie, disposed of those tiny knickers that barely covered her arse and pulled the velvet bag from her side dresser.
“Noah, what’s that?” She was nearly panting.
“You’ll see.” I massaged her naked arse.
I smacked the right cheek, nice and hard. She moaned and jutted it out for more. Just like I wanted. When she was nice and red, I pulled the lube from the bag and squirted some down the crack of her arse.
“So sexy.” I growled as I spread her cheeks, slipping a finger inside to ensure the lube went inside.
&nb
sp; “Yes.” She moaned when I pulled out.
This spurred some more testing and an addition of another finger. Maxine was such a naughty girl, and I loved her for it.
After making sure she was just right, I started to fuck her with the plug in her arse. She moaned and writhed with each push and pull, which only made me harder as I drew her closer to an orgasm.
“Fuck, Noah!” She begged. “That feels so good.”
I tilted her ass higher, so I could get the angle the way I wanted, and the way she moaned confirmed that she was more than excited. When I couldn’t take it anymore, I pushed the plug inside and then filled her tight cunt with my cock.
With a loud wail, Maxine came long and hard. I was so close to coming that I stopped, so I didn’t embarrass myself.
“Noah!” She whined in a needy tone. “Fuck me.”
That was all it took and the extra snugness of her core, along with the pink leather straps attached to the anal plug, had me blowing within the next few minutes. I didn’t even get in five good strokes of Maxine’s wet cunt before she exploded again and collapsed.
I fell right next to her and pulled her close. Her soft moans and content breaths were calling me to sleep. Before I was completely gone, I heard her say in a whisper, “I get to build a life with you.”
Holding her tight, I snuggled into Maxine’s body and said against her ear, “That’s the honor that you’ve bestowed upon me. I’ll never forget it.”
Moments later, we were both sleep and thinking about that future we planned to build.
Epilogue
One year later
I tossed the bouquet and it landed right in front of Sheryl. It was my wedding day, and one of my besties looked like it was the saddest day of her life. I nearly trampled over to her to tell her to snap the hell out of it. All the women looked at her then the bouquet. That only lasted for a few seconds because they nearly tackled her and the set of flowers. Noah scrambled me up whole, and Jacquez pulled her somewhere. It looked like a heated discussion, but Noah whispered in my ear. “Let it be, Love. They need to figure it out, just like we did.”
I sighed and then sagged into him. It was our wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful. All my favorite people came and even some new friends. Zora and Harvey looked like the prom king and queen. Though they were Philadelphia natives, they were pretty popular as well. Mz. James and Z. Hays, were present, since she had done an article on me and how I had made a business out of what was seemingly nothing. My dad was super hype about walking me down the aisle. Even told me my mom would be proud. The shocker was Noah’s mom. The woman told me to call her mama. Noah was excited by that bridge his mom was trying to build. It seemed she genuinely liked me for her son. I guess any mom wanted to ensure their child was loved, even if it was by an American.
One year later.
“Today, we celebrate the ribbon cutting of the newest Philadelphia hotel. All the way from London, Europe, Noah Wolfe has come to ensure our city has all of the necessary tools to compete stateside. Partnering with Always Right and Harvey Enterprises, the dynasty will only go up. Here with us are the three owners that will cut the ribbon in part. Ms. Maxine Wolfe, please start the cutting.” The announcer stated.
My wife made her way to the front of the building with its glass exterior, reinforced by titanium, gold, and steel accents. The hotel rivaled any hotel in the country, and Harvey made sure that it did. He wanted the best for his constituents but also because his name and brand was on it, he wanted to ensure that it would be of the highest caliber. I could relate since Wolfe III was my own baby. It was my own initiative after my father. His legacy was great, but I wanted to leave a great one for my kids as well. Maxine understood since she was doing the same for her business, which had grown expeditiously over the past two years.
The woman was traveling all over the country and outside. Consulting and building up people to run the organization in a way that was genuine to her.
We had settled in a house right outside of the city, despite living in a hotel for most of my adult life. I wanted a good ‘ole home with a yard to mow, a garage to store shit, and a threshold to carry my wife over. I had it built from the ground up because some particulars needed to be done that included custom work, since nothing in or out of the city had everything that we needed. It was actually Maxine’s idea. She didn’t want a mini-mansion, which it was, but it was everything we needed. Her office was huge, so was mine. My man cave, as Maxine put it, was also equally as nice.
“Here goes nothing!” Maxine cut a quarter of the thick, red, ribbon.
The crowd, that included hotel staff, friends, family, and the media, cheered as she made her way back by my side. She went to hold my hand, but I pulled her into me, her belly hitting me first. My lady was seven months pregnant with our first child. I was not allowed to say that she waddled like a duck or that she was glowing or cute. Even though she did and she was. Too bloody cute. However, I could say she was beautiful, bright and intelligent, and moved like a swan in a pond. She told me that and only that was permissible when referring to her being pregnant. The only thing that I tried to broach with her was to stop calling our son an alien invasion to her body. She did not listen, but I knew that once she was able to see what we had created, she would hurt someone that would even suggest the process wasn’t worth it.
“I’m so proud of you.” She whispered in my ear when I pulled her in.
“Proud of us, Love.” I clarified.
“Next up, Mr. Harvey Black.” The announcer instructed.
The confident man strode up to the front, held up the scissors and cut another quarter of the way through the ribbon. The crowd cheered and his wife Zora beamed with pride.
“Next up, the man of the hour, the chief executive owner of the Wolfe Group. Creator of Wolfe III in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Noah Wolfe.” The announcer boasted.
Leaning down, I kissed my wife’s head, walked over to the last of the ribbon, and finished the cut. The crowd cheered for a long period of time and then the three of us were instructed to participate in a photo opportunity.
My chest swelled as I thought about the first hotel that was built under my father regime. Then, the second and this one here, was my very own. Continuing the legacy and not on the back of my wife. Maxine supported me, but the sacrifice that my father made would help me not make the same mistake. My mum would lose her bloody mind if I tried. The woman had grown to love Maxine, and oddly enough, it was because she had loved me first. Well, at least Maxine showed her how much she loved me and that spoke volumes for the old Italian woman. Her presence in the crowd was monumental because she was there for the first two. There were tears in her eyes during the reception, but she kept hugging on Maxine and rubbing her belly. Only mum could get away with this. Maxine would break someone arms for taking it upon themselves to place their hands on her pregnant body. The woman had become possessive and territorial. Even if she was this way before the invasion, she exhibited more elevated levels. It was not just her. I had also grown a bit clingier. Her clients were researched ahead of time, especially if she had to leave the state or the country. Maxine thought I was ridiculous; however, it was a safety measure that was necessary if she was or wasn’t pregnant.

Two months later, we welcomed Noah Wolfe, Jr into the world. As I suspected, there was no talk of alien invasions. Hell, she forgot about the hardship her body went through after she saw our infant of a son.
He was the most beautiful boy in the universe. Junior had her lips, my eyes and nose. His hair was curly and his little fingers were holding on to anything he could grab. The first night home, I think I held him the entire day. Maxine was sleeping most of the time, so I was good. She didn’t have to wake me if he cried because the perfect little thing was all I ever wanted. To put the icing on the cake, he was with who I would ever need. His beautiful mother, who also convinced me, that she was always right.
Right for me.
The End.

Chapter 1: D’asia
BOOM BOOM
Someone was banging on the door, but it wasn’t mine. The droplets fell from my body as the green shower rug absorbed the water like it did every morning. This reminded me to get them washed soon. It had been at least three months since the last cleaning cycle.
Stepping out of the shower, I heard more banging. Then there were voices. The walls were thin as paper in the old housing projects so I could hear the banging and the words Police as if they were in my apartment.
Oh, it was just another cop knocking on doors, probably looking for someone. As long as it wasn’t my door, I did not care.
After I had dried off and put on my clothes to get ready for my eight o’clock class, I grabbed the coffee mug that was under my prized Keurig brewer. I saved up five months of income for that machine and I needed it now more than ever. I just enrolled in Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) and this was my second semester. The first half was tough and even while taking the four classes, I was still able to end with a three-point-eight grade point average.
